Your personality is the missing piece in your home.
Short-term trends, design influencers, and homes with no personality are at an all-time high.
To bring out the beauty and comfort of your home for you and your guests to enjoy, you need to incorporate more of yourself. Your story is essential to creating a beautiful space.
Here’s how my story influences my design.
I’ve always had a love for interiors, furniture, fabrics, colors and the flow of a house. My father was an upholsterer, working on projects in our garage. He showed me the impact of quality fabrics and furniture. My mom had an interior decorating business, and I could find fabrics and textiles around the home.
In early adulthood, I worked in San Francisco at Prescriptives Cosmetics in Union Square. Color combinations came together for me, and I quickly realized it was just as essential in a home as it is in someone’s makeup.
I moved into home staging and furniture sales as a design consultant with Chazin Interiors in Wayzata, MN, and worked with a broad range of clients with everyday furniture and accessories needs as well as high-end furnishing and staging projects.
I’ve called California and Minnesota home for most of my life, but have always been a southern girl at heart. Southern Living was always one of my favorite magazines and I’ve poured over southern home and lifestyle inspiration for years. For the past 5 years, we’ve called Greenville, South Carolina home, and it’s been fun to bring Southern design into my own home here in the South.
Most people don’t have the time or expertise but will spend a lot of money on furnishings, paint, wallpaper, window treatments, lighting, countertops, tile, and plumbing fixtures. If you don’t have a plan or a consultant to help with those decisions, it can be frustrating to choose fixtures you don’t love.
